Postcards, The Final Stretch

Good intentions notwithstanding, my collection of beautiful postcards have, all this time, sat waiting in a box. (So many opportunities for humor here: "Like captive outlaws, waiting to be hung..." "Postcards: the unhung heroes...") When I got home from an errand tonight, I discovered that Darren had hung about a dozen of them as a surprise. *Ping* goes the husband-point meter. We still have several to get on the wall, but here's an idea of how it looks:

Rather belated thanks to:

* Liane M., since every truly American display needs a view of Detroit,

* Leah G. and Rose F., adding the Dominican Republic to my increasingly impressive display of foreign lands,

* Sarah and Nathan M., who much flattered me by remembering to bring a postcard back from their pre-baby trip to Hawaii.

I bought a few extra frames, so if you're feeling crushed that you missed the chance to send me a postcard, lift up your heart! You can still send it to me.

Thanks to all of you who have sent me cards. I'd hoped to feel a warm glow as I looked at my display. Now that it's going up, the glow is just as nice as I hoped.

We went on a trip to Nebraska this summer and I found you a really nice postcard with a photo of a corn field from there. On the way back, we stopped in Iowa for gas and I was looking at the postcards and found the exact same postcard that I had bought for you in Nebraska, only it said Iowa. I then did a little more digging through their postcards and found another, with the same picture, that said Kansas! LOL! I meant to send you all three, because I thought it was so funny, but now I can't seem to find them. If I do, I'll send them your way!
